Erika Lugo-Bonet
Director of Operations

Erika Lugo-Bonet is an arts administrator and musician whose work is rooted in a lifelong connection to music and live performance. A Miami native and classically trained violinist, she has spent much of her life on the performer side of the stage and has developed a strong interest in the people, planning, and organization that make those performances possible.

After earning her bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from the University of Florida at the New World School of the Arts, Erika earned her Master of Arts in Arts Administration from Indiana University. Her professional experience has taken her from development and fundraising at Constellation Stage & Screen in Bloomington, where she supported donor stewardship, fundraising campaigns, and patron database management, to communications and marketing with OPART E.P.E. in Lisbon, Portugal, supporting the São Carlos National Theatre and the annual summer festival, Festival ao Largo. Through her work with the Jacobs School of Music, she has supported a range of performing arts and education initiatives, including coordinating musicians and teaching artists for concerts at senior care facilities, assisting with the Jacobs Virtual Academy's Community Partners Day for visiting middle school students, and serving as a Spanish-language interpreter for virtual music lessons connecting teaching artists with students in the Dominican Republic.

These experiences have allowed Erika to work across development, artist coordination, event logistics, arts education, community engagement, and operations, while seeing firsthand the many pieces that come together to support performing artists and audiences. She is especially drawn to work that allows her to support artists while creating meaningful experiences for audiences. Erika hopes to build a career in orchestra management, artistic planning, or community engagement, bringing together her perspective as a musician with her skills as an arts administrator.
